We provide all the services of larger manufacturer and franchise facilities with the personal touch of a family owned garage. We provide some services they don't such as welding, machining and fabrication such as custom exhaust systems. We have close relationships with other independent shops and will obtain information and even refer you to them if there is an advantage in your particular situation.
We have a large investment in equipment and information for diagnosing and repairing drivability problems. We enjoy the challenge of identifying the problem and repairing only the defective part.
Cars (1996 and later) with the OBD II (On Doard Diagnostics, 2nd generation) system have computers that generate a "code" when there is a problem and illuminates the "check engine" light. We have a "scan tool" that reads the code. The code tells what the computer determines that problem to be, but is often vague. It may tell there is a problem with a misfire or with emission levels, but it doesn't tell why. That is where the "diagnostics" come in and we need to determine what componet is defective. We use our experience, libraries of experience from industry sources and scan tool readings of various sensors to determine the actual defective components(s). This can be challenging, but also rewarding.
Cars built between the mid 80's and 1995 have a similar but less sophisticated computer systems and the diagnostices can be even more challenging and rewarding.
